In the early 18th and 19th century there were many weavers in India who kept the art alive and passed it on to their children. Amongst them was Hasan Mirza who developed the first fusion collection of chikan kurti’s for the royal court of awadh. His designs were inspired with new modern age colonial designs making him a local favourite of the Britishers as well as the nawab.
